What Is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Our Street Department handles street repair, ditch clean out, bush hogging state right-of-ways, installing culverts, maintaining driveways in the town right-of-ways, mosquito spraying and animal control.  

The City Council typically meets every third Tuesday each month at 5:00 PM in the City Hall.

Garbage Rate
$16.09 per month and is included on your monthly water bill
 

Our Sanitation Department is responsible for the weekly pickup of residential and commercial waste.

If there is a holiday, the trash for that week will be picked up on Wednesday.  All other pickup schedules will remain the same. 

Starting July 1, 2020 the Town of Many will be conducting its annual chlorine burnout to disinfect the water pipes for the Town of Many water system. This is required by the state and will run through September 1, 2020.  You do not need to boil your water or take other actions but if your skin is sensitive to chlorine please take precautions.

Mayor's Court is located at City Hall, 965 San Antonio Avenue, Many, LA 71449. 

Must be at City Hall by 5:00 PM.  Please dress appropriately.  No children allowed inside the court room. All court proceedings are recorded.

The following days shall be considered legal holidays for employees of the Town.  If the holiday falls on a Saturday, employees will not work the preceding Friday.  If the holiday falls on a Sunday, employees will not work the following Monday.  Other holidays may be proclaimed by the mayor as the mayor feels necessary.

On these dates of closure the garbage truck will run on Wednesdays instead for these weeks.

• In Town: First 1,000 gallons is $47.00 and $11.00 per thousand gallons over 1,000
• Outside of Town: First 1,000 gallons is $67.00 and $11.00 per thousand gallons over 1,000
• Commercial: First 1,000 gallons is $47.00 and $11.00 per thousand gallons over 1,000
• Safe Drinking Fee: $1.00 per month
• Mosquito Control Fee: $1.50 per month

Sewer Service Rates

• Inside City Limits: $125.00
• Outside City Limits: $150.00
• Businesses: $200.00
• Transfer Fee: $20.00

Bulk Water Rates

• $12.00 per 1,000 gallons
• $35.00 Setup Fee

Policy and Procedure

No owner or keeper of any animal shall permit the animal to run at large on any place of the town off the premises of the custodian of the animal where they are not under the direct control of the owner or keeper.

Every animal in the Town of Many is required to be vaccinated.  At the request of the Animal Control Officer (ACO), proof of veterinary records shall be provided as required by the Louisiana Administrative Code, Title 51, Part III § 101.  Animals with no veterinary records will be seized and turned over to the Sabine Animal Shelter for processing.

• Green Waste Removal is on Thursdays and is picked up by the Street and Clean-Up department from the curbside.
• Limbs must be no more than four (4) foot in length, four (4) inches in diameter and weigh no more than fifty (50) pounds.
• The crew will pick up limbs, bagged leaves and clippings of various plant materials.

The Town of Many is accepting applications for full-time employees in the Water Department.  Job duties include: Reading water meters, water system maintenance, water cut-ons and disconnects, and other duties as assigned.  Skills desired: Backhoe experience.  Must have a valid drivers license, have a clean driving record and pass a drug screen and physical.  Applications may be obtained at City Hall from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday at the drive-thru window or print off the application below and return it to City Hall.  The Town of Many is an equal opportunity employer. 

Mayor Freeman signed an emergency declaration today.  A copy is attached for your reference. 

Also, the Mayor is issuing a city-wide curfew from 7:00 pm tomorrow night until 5:00 am Thursday morning.  Only first responders, police and fire, city crews or those driving back and forth to work are allowed on the city streets.
 
In addition, because of the COVID-19 virus the Mayor strongly recommends that shelters not be opened within the city limits of Many for any refugees.
 

City Hall will be closed Monday 9/7 for Labor Day - Garbage for Monday will be picked up on Wednesday instead.  All other days will remain on their normal pickup schedule.

Town of Many will be picking up limbs and debris Monday-Friday.

With Christmas approaching, we would like to let everyone know there is an Angel Tree located at Hancock Whitney Bank in Many with local Sabine Parish children’s names. Many Mayor recommended the appointment of Cheryl Wooley to fill Roger Freeman’s unexpired term. Mrs. Wooley has vast experience in law enforcement and drug enforcement in the state of Oklahoma and served as a Child Welfare Supervisor for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Mrs. Wooley moved to Many when she married Donnie Wooley 11 years ago.

Calling all history buffs! The Sabine Parish Historical Committee wants YOU to join our team! We are currently working on exhibits for the Many Depot Museum which is scheduled to open early next year. The only qualifications we ask for is that you love Sabine Parish and want to volunteer to work with us to preserve our history for citizens and visitors alike!

In an effort to make your hometown to look its best, the city is going to start enforcing our ordinance #1 of 2009. I am instructing the Chief to have her patrol officers who ride up and down the streets of Many to find any citizens in violation of the 12 year old garbage ordinance that says the following:

Be aware Many PD will be enforcing the Town of Many's juvenile curfew laws. Anyone under 17 years of age caught on the public street or public place between the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and between the hours of midnight and 5:00 AM Friday and Saturday nights ( unless accompanied by a parent or other guardian)  will be in violation of the Many curfew laws. 
A juvenile in violation of curfew will be taken to the Many Police Dept until a parent or legal guardian can be contacted.

The Town of Many is accepting applications for a full-time position in our Clean-up Department.   Job Duties include:  clean-up and town maintenance, mowing, weed eating and other duties as assigned.  Must have valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a drug screen and physical. The Town of Many is accepting applications for part-time, temporary workers for clean-up and outdoor maintenance during the growing season May 1, 2021 through Sept. 1, 2021. Must have valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a drug screen and physical. The Town of Many is accepting applications for an Equipment Operator for the Street Department.  Experience preferred in operating trackhoe, side-arm tractor and commercial mowers as well as perform clean-up duties and town maintenance.  Applications may be obtained at City Hall from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Town of Many is receiving applications for Payroll Clerk/HR Manager.  Applicants must have accounting and payroll experience. The Town of Many now has 4 certified animal control officers. On Monday, August 14th and Tuesday, August 15th they will be going around the city limits and educating the public.

The Town of Many is accepting applications for Garbage Collectors.  Employee must be able to collect from the back of a garbage truck. Must have GED/High school diploma, valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a drug screen and physical. The Town of Many is excited to announce the launch of TextMyGov services as another convenient way for residents, employees and visitors to communicate with the town. This smart texting solutions works with regular SMS texting so no app or download needed.  TextMyGov uses a mobile phone's regular messaging service as a simple way for the town interact with the public and for citizens to relay information to town staff.

The Town of Many is accepting sealed bids on asphalt installed per ton on city streets for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.   Contractor must pay for asphalt, labor and equipment to dig out and pack bottoms and seal with proper asphaltic oil; asphalt roller must be used to pack the top.
